The Robert H. Richards Award, established in 1948 and administered by AIME Member Society, SME, recognizes outstanding achievement that demonstrably advances the art of mineral beneficiation in any of its branches.
At the 2026 Annual SME Conference in Salt Lake City, Metcom’s Robert E. McIvor was presented with the prestigious Robert H. Richards Award. The award recognizes his extensive contributions to comminution science and his lifelong commitment to advancing the state of the art in mineral processing.
With this award, McIvor joins an elite group of mineral processing pioneers recognized for their lasting contributions to the field.
